The cafe is well laid out with your choice of seating in the large window, table seating throughout or try and bag the fabulous little corner alcove with sofas.

The menu has a great selection of breakfast favourites, lite lunches and snacks. We had already spotted the frittata on the counter so ordered a slice and also Eggs Benedict. The frittata is homemade with summer pea and courgette, comes served hot with a side salad and small jug of dressing. It’s absolutely delicious and very filling, £7.25. The Eggs Benedict comprises two free-range eggs poached with bacon and generous hollandaise sauce on English muffins. Also supremely tasting and a perfect portion for lunch, £6.25.

We had a very competent cappuccino and a Summer Special drink , the Iced Chocolate Bounty which comes with chocolate and coconut milk frappe, whipped cream and chocolate sauce. Truly naughty but nice!

As a dessert we tried a lovely, juicy fruit slice flapjack and an one of the best chocolate brownies I’ve had in a while, dense and intensely chocolatey.

We had a good chat to the staff who were all very friendly and happy to recommend items from the menu. They explained the food was locally sourced from a network of small suppliers across the south and what else was on offer on the counter.

We had a great lunch but also noted they have a morning club offer on Monday to Fridays where any breakfast comes with a tea or coffee for £6.95 small or just £7.95 full size.
