The popular event is on from 29th August to 1st September 2019. There will be free displays in the air, on the ground and at night from 10am - 10pm daily.

2019 line up to be confirmed, below iis our top tips from 2018.

1. Our first must-see isn't even a plane, but is in the air! Performing lunch time and early evening on Friday and Saturday. See the fabulous Gravity Industries Jet Suit Display Demonstration. Displaying for the first time at a public event with TWO jet suit pilots – watch as Gravity Industries showcase the next frontier in human flight. See our photos from Friday 31st August
2. An air festival wouldn't be complete without the RAF Red Arrows. See the world's premier aerobatic display teams the Red Arrows represent the speed, agility and precision of the Royal Air Force. Dates and times: Thursday 30th August - 5.30pm, Friday 31st August - 3.00pm and Saturday 1st Sept - 12 noon.
3. On land check out A Very Vintage Weekend on East Overcliff Drive. To celebrate 100 years since the end of World War I and the centenary of the Royal Air Force the East Overcliff will be transformed into a vintage bygone era – complete with music, dance, family fun, traders, classic cars and entertainment.
4. At sea, Bournemouth’s picture-perfect horizon will be transformed once again by an impressive military ship, courtesy of the Royal Navy. Tours are available but fill up quickly, check the Air Festival website for booking details.
5. One of our favourite displays is the RAF HC2 Chinook. The unmistakable "wocka wocka" of the Chinook is one of the most distinctive sounds in the sky and it makes a welcome return to Bournemouth again this year.
6. Falling from the sky in a colourful display, the British Army Tigers Freefall Parachute Display Team are back again with parachuting perfection. Get ready for another amazing spectacle, as the Tigers drop onto the Beach with smoke trailing and flags flying.
7. Performing for the first time at this year's Air Festival the Breitling Jet Team have not displayed at a UK civilian air show for nearly 15 years and never on the south coast of England. A first for Bournemouth!
8. Piloted by Brendan O’Brien, the incredible “Otto” the Helicopter, complete with spectacular pyrotechnic effects, is back again to add more explosive entertainment to the dusk flying displays.
9. Located at Pier Approach, visit the interactive RAF Village. New for 2018 is the RAF Operation Virtual Reality - an amazing, interactive experience allowing you to immerse yourself in a variety of locations and roles within the RAF. What better way to show you first-hand what it is like to become a part of this prestigious service and find out more about a career in the RAF.
10. You will be spoilt for choice when it comes to food and drink too. With 1.5 miles of terrific traders and a variety of veritable vendors, check out what’s on offer between the Piers and along the East Overcliff. With everything from posh nosh and gourmet foods to pizza and fish and chips.
11. This list is just our favourite selection, there's so much more on over the long weekend. Our final tip is to pick up an official Souvenir Programme, available from stores across town or on site during the festival.
