Flocks of toy ducks will take to the Bourne Stream this summer as the Great Duck Races return to Bournemouth Lower Gardens on Saturday 22 August, raising funds for local charities Plants and Minds and MacMillan Caring Locally.
The family-friendly event will see up to 4,000 brightly coloured plastic ducks race along the stream, battling the current, natural obstacles and each other in a light-hearted contest for prizes.
Tickets cost £2 per duck, with winners in each race receiving cash prizes of £50 for first place, £25 for second and £10 for third. A small transaction fee applies to online ticket purchases.
Racing begins at 10.30am, with 12 races taking place throughout the day until the final event at 4pm. After purchasing tickets, participants will be contacted by email to select which race they would like to enter before receiving their duck numbers.
In addition to the races, visitors can enjoy a range of family activities and competitions throughout the day, including the popular "Name That Duck" challenge, making it an entertaining day out for all ages.
Organisers hope the event will once again attract large crowds while raising valuable funds for Plants and Minds and MacMillan Caring Locally, supporting their work within the local community.
Anyone wishing to take part can purchase tickets in advance through the Plants and Minds website. Further information, including terms and conditions, is available from the charity's official website.
