The newly restored East Wing of Highcliffe Castle was officially opened yesterday (30 May 2019) by HRH, The Duke of Gloucester KG GCVO.
A new facial reconstruction of Tahemaa, the BNSS’s 25th dynasty Egyptian mummy, is now on display, along with a three-dimensional model of the skull. This reconstruction, based on the scans done in 2009 at City University in London, has been created by Vanessa Pearson, a third year Model Making student at the Arts University Bournemouth.
Visitors to Buckler’s Hard, less than an hour from Bournemouth, will be able to take tours on board HMS Medusa – which took a starring role in the recently released Dunkirk movie – while it is moored at the attraction on Friday September 29th.
New for 2017, Beaulieu has opened the newly restored Victorian Kitchen at Palace House, the ancestral home of the Montagu family. Beaulieu is less than an hour from Bournemouth and makes a great day out whilst here.
The Bournemouth Natural Science Society (BNSS) is thrilled to announce its successful application to the Museum Accreditation Scheme. The Museum Committee has been working hard for a long time to get their documents in order and up to scratch and it is a credit to them that Bournemouth are now a new Accredited Museum.
