The Crumbs Project charity, with funding from Luxurycare Group, is set to open a brand-new café in the grounds of Birds Hill Nursing Home on Monday 11th March with an official public opening taking place between 10am and 2pm. Aside from offering tasty treats and drinks, the café focuses on helping their mixed-ability trainees achieve life skills and professional development, with all profits being invested back in to the charity. Colin’s Nest is named after a past resident at the Birds Hill Nursing Home. The café compliments Crumbs’ training centre in Bournemouth, which provides a range of catering services.

Bournemouth is to get the South’s first cat cafe. A Bournemouth woman is crowdfunding the final £25,000 needed to open Pause Cat Cafe near Horseshoe Common, where people can book to spend time with cats while enjoying healthy, locally sourced, ethical food and drink. The indiegogo campaign launched today and will run until 9th December, and if the target is reached, Jaya Da Costa hopes to open the cat cafe later this winter.
