Last Call for Entries to Highcliffe Castle’s 2021 Photography Competition

Grade 1 listed Highcliffe Castle is asking people to appreciate the little things in life as the theme for their 2021 photography competition.

As the world adjusts to the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic, this competition challenges people to reflect on what is important to them and celebrate all the little things that they’ve learnt to appreciate over the last year, captured in a photograph.

Deadline for entries is Monday 7 December 2020.

The winners chosen by a panel of photography experts in each of the age categories: 5-11 years; 12-16 years; 17-25 years; and 26+ years. For the first time, people will also be able to vote for their favourite image online in the Public Choice Award.

Councillor Mohan Iyengar, Portfolio Holder for Tourism, Leisure and Culture commented, “This year has been an unsettling one for many of us and we’ve had to adapt and learn to appreciate the small things. Now, more than ever, our fulfilled lives pledge to promote happy, active and healthy lifestyles is brought into focus. This photography competition celebrating what makes us all smile will be a great reminder for everyone to enjoy the simple things in life over the coming months. I’m looking forward to viewing all the entries next year.”

A range of local companies have donated prizes for the winning entries, with an exhibition of the winning photographs opening at Highcliffe Castle in February 2021 (online if applicable).
