45 Photos from Light Up Poole Digital Arts Festival 2020

Light Up Poole, the digital light art festival, got underway on Thursday 20th February 2020. See 45 photos from the event below.

As night falls, artists and communities will celebrate Poole’s diverse landscape with co-produced light and sound installations illuminating the historic old town, urban high street, and waterfront. Inspired by the theme ‘Spectrum’, artists will respond to difference exploring disability, social exclusion, age, faith and more.  New for 2020 is a ‘Light Up Family Rave’ and a daytime talks programme at Lighthouse, Poole. Explore the arts:science:technology crossover from new angles.  Highlights include senior science advisor Mark McCaughrean from The European Space Agency, BBC’s art and cultural historian Dr Janina Ramirez and the story of Mathmos Lava Lamps: Made in Poole since 1963.

This unique digital Light Art Festival will transform Poole’s Town Centre after dark from Thursday 20 to Saturday 22 February, 6pm to 10pm.
