Feats of Feet on offer this autumn for local charity

Forest Holme in Poole is hosting a number of feet-related charity fundraising events this autumn to raise money for the Poole-based hospice, beginning with a Hospice Hike on 30th September 2018.

Guided by a professional walk leader, the hike starts at 10am from Corfe Castle and follows a scenic circular route through the Purbeck Way, down towards Bushey and Norden, taking in some spectacular views of Corfe Castle and the surrounding Purbecks.

On 11th October the hospice is offering brave ‘soles’ the opportunity to take on a once in a lifetime challenge and walk on hot coals and razor sharp broken glass. The Fire & Ice Walk, which takes place at Cobham Sports and Social Club near Wimborne, is run by one of the UK’s leading Fire Walk companies who provide an hour of self-development training and mind over matter techniques to prepare participants to face their fears and do something amazing for charity.

For those who want to tap their feet rather than brave fire and glass, the hospice is hosting a Family Barn Dance during half-term on October 26th at the Hamworthy Club, Canford Magna, which includes a Ploughman’s Supper. Dances will be taught during the evening, which will feature live music from the Black Sheep, plus a caller.

All proceeds from these events will go to Forest Holme Hospice Charity to help provide end of life care and support to local people with advanced cancer and other life-limiting illnesses across Poole, Wimborne and the Isle of Purbeck.
