60 Million Postcards, adjacent to the new BH2 complex on Exeter Road, has maintained the kooky charm we've always loved but has brought in plusher seating and more pleasant lighting. Walls have large murals, tables are rough cut timber and, bang on-trend, there are exposed filament light-bulbs everywhere.
The stage is at the far end of the building and the bar on the right as you enter. There is regular live music and on the launch night Selby & The Dharma Blitz and The Hotsteppas brought the tunes.
The new beach huts provide booth style seating at the front and look colourful and great fun - and very Bournemouth. Expect to struggle to find a free one as the warmer weather comes our way.
The lunch and supper menu has some tasty treats including whole chicken, burgers, nachos, salads and shakes. We tried some Dirty Sanchez - a sizzling mix of hash browns, corn tortillas, cheesy sauce, hot sauce + tricoloured chillies.
Until the 17th March 2018 they have a draft beer residency. This offers an exceptionally diverse selection of over twenty keg, cask and bottled craft beers, all created by award-winning independent brewer, Thornbridge, founded in the grounds of Thornbridge Hall at the heart of the Peak District.
With a great new look and a buzzing atmosphere 60 Million Postcards looks set for a busy 2018 and we're looking forwards to returning and trying some more of the menu and one or three of the wonderful drinks on offer.
