Wine, Heritage, and coastal charm collide at South Coast Wine Festival

Wine, Heritage, and coastal charm collide at South Coast Wine Festival

One of the UK’s most distinctive wine events is set to make a bold return  this summer, as the South Coast Wine Festival reclaims its place at the spectacular Highcliffe Castle from 8th to 10th August 2025.

With sweeping sea views, centuries-old walls, and a  celebration of over 300 wines from around the world, the festival promises a rich and immersive  experience that transcends the traditional tasting event. This isn’t just another wine festival. It’s a  cultural showcase framed by a Gothic revival castle, perched dramatically on the cliffs of Dorset’s  southern coastline.

“Our goal has always been to create something deeper than just a tasting event; to craft an  atmosphere of exploration, learning, and joy,” says CEO Simone Ippolito. “And Highcliffe Castle  brings that to life in the most extraordinary way.”

What Awaits at the Festival

At its heart lies the Wine Tasting Experience, held within the castle itself. This exploration of  varietals and vintages allows guests to sample wines from small-batch producers, iconic regions,  and rising stars in the wine world. Tickets include a branded glass and access to over 300 pours. For those seeking a deeper understanding, Masterclasses will return with limited seating, offering  expert-led sessions on tasting technique, terroir, food pairing, and wine heritage. These intimate  gatherings are ideal for both enthusiasts and aspiring sommeliers.

Beyond the glass, the festival delivers a full weekend of live music, local cuisine, and coastal  relaxation. It transforms the castle grounds into a vibrant community hub, with sports cars, a real  boat under the arches, artisan food stalls, and even a dedicated outdoor wine bar.

A Festival That Gives Back

This year’s festival proudly partners with MYTIME Young Carers, a remarkable UK charity  that supports children who care for loved ones at home. “I want to do everything I can to bring  something special to our area — something people can enjoy and that helps us appreciate where  we live,” says Ippolito.

Visitors will have the opportunity to meet representatives from MYTIME Young Carers throughout  the weekend, learn more about their inspiring work, and contribute directly through on-site  donations. Community is at the heart of the South Coast Wine Festival, and this partnership  highlights the event’s commitment to making a meaningful local impact.

 Destination, Not Just a Venue

Built in the 1830s and famously frequented by royalty and creatives, Highcliffe Castle is as  much a protagonist of the weekend as the wine itself. Its clifftop location offers panoramic views  over Christchurch Bay and the Isle of Wight, creating a uniquely serene setting for indulgence,  discovery, and connection. It’s more than a festival. It’s a moment in time.
