Bournemouth Gardens

Explore beautiful managed gardens for free

Great to relax in-front of the bandstand, play some crazy golf or to take a stroll in the beautiful surroundings.

The Gardens retain much of their original character and are Listed Grade II* in the English Heritage Register of Parks and Gardens.

The Gardens make up a linear park, approximately 3km in length. They start (or end) in the centre of the town, from Pier Approach and go all the way inland to the borough boundary with Poole at Branksome Wood Road. The Gardens are intersected along their length by three roads - Queens Road, Prince of Wales Road and Bourne Avenue. Branksome Wood Road is at the northern end of the gardens. The further inland you go the quieter the gardens get.

Bournemouth Gardens includes the following attractions:

  • Bournemouth Tennis Centre
  • Mini Golf
  • Children's Playgrounds
  • Public Toilets in the Lower Gardens
  • Aviary
  • Bandstand - regular free concerts
  • Ice cream & refreshment kiosks
  • Art Exhibition (open May to September behind the Bandstand)
  • Ornamental rockery
  • Bournemouth War Memorial
  • Coy Pond
  • Board Walks

There are a number of access points all along the gardens.
