One of Bournemouth's oldest watering holes is back in the smart guise of a pub with dining and it's very own microbrewery. Brewhouse & Kitchen is now established in the historic Branksome premises at 152 Commercial Road in the The Triangle.
We'd already had a tantalising sneak peek at The Real Greek at their launch party, so were delighted to return this week for a full dinner experience.
We had the pleasure of being invited to an evening meal at No. 34, the restaurant located in The Orchid Hotel on East Cliff in Bournemouth this week.
After way too many years sitting empty due to a boundary dispute, Neo Restaurant opened in 2016 and now offers Bournemouth a sophisticated dining experience with wonderful sea views and many consummate, appetising dishes. We went along on sunny May evening for dinner and were lucky to get a table along the curved front window. Views of the sea, big wheel ride and general hustle and bustle of tourists in the centre made for a great backdrop to our meal.
Bournemouth has no shortage of new restaurants popping up and Franco Manca is lucky enough to have a position right on The Square. We went along to see just what was on offer at the new pizzeria.
The Poole Maritime Festival took place over the weekend 19-21 May 2017 and once the rain stopped the crowds came out for the sprawling event across town.
YO! Sushi Bournemouth has an exciting new range of dishes on the menu and we were invited to a tasting event this week.
Chaplin's and The Cellar Bar in Boscombe is an award winning venue and reminded us of a certain somewhere. On a recent trip to Budapest we discovered their love of Ruin Bars, particularly Szimpla Kert. With an eclectic mix of arts, music, food and drink, it's evocative and full of character based in an old building with lots of kooky corners in which to relax and all manner of quirky bric-a-brac strung up on the walls and ceiling. While soaking up the atmosphere and the local Unicum we thought it would be great if Bournemouth had something similar. Well no need to dust off the passport, we've got a venue in its ilk right here in Bournemouth. Chaplin's shares many of the qualities that make the crowds descend on Szimpla Kert.
It's not easy to find a quality, 5-course dining experience for £30, but at this hidden gem in Westbourne you can. Angelique of Westbourne, made famous for French patisserie, is now opening it's doors in the evening and offering set price dining.
