The converted ATR-42 passenger plane will form the centrepiece of Immense Air, a unique bar and restaurant concept for a series of ‘flights’ in the run up to Bournemouth Air Festival at the end of the month.
It opens on Friday with a special show featuring Flash, the world’s most authentic Queen tribute band.
The place has been carefully converted over the last six weeks to offer four serving hatches and a 30-foot bar area. The fridge units are stowed in the former cockpit and replica wings built from aluminium add the finishing touches to the look.
Outside, on the beach will be the Immense Air departure lounge and the Club Class Beach AIR Restaurant where passengers will be able to enjoy themed ‘flight; nights during the Air Festival with the food, drink and music of destinations in Hawaii, Brazil and Thailand before the season ends with a Vintage Sunday event on 3 September.
