This Christmas the Bournemouth Natural Science Society and Museum will be opening to the public for two days a week during the school Christmas holidays.

Following on from the hugely successful special Open Day events and summer opening, the BNSS is expanding its regular opening times over Christmas to allow families to take advantage of the unique collections during the holidays. Usually only open on Tuesday mornings, from the 20th December to the 29th December 2016 they will welcome visitors on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10am to 4pm. With collections to appeal to all ages and interests, our volunteers will guide you through the museum and share their knowledge and stories. There is so much to discover!

Come along to see dinosaur footprints in the geology rooms, wonder at specimens of extinct animals such as the Passenger Pigeon, understand your ancient ancestors in the archaeology room and meet resident Egyptian mummy, Taheema.

BNSS's wonderful garden will  be open to help you walk off any Christmas stress and excess and there will be tea, coffee and biscuits available for a small charge to warm you up afterwards. There will also be a shop where you can pick up a souvenir of your visit.

Bournemouth Natural Science Society and Museum will be open Tuesday 20th, Thursday 22nd, Tuesday 27th and Thursday 29th December.
Entry to the museum is free, although they do ask visitors to leave a donation which will go towards the running of the museum and fulfilling our charitable aims.
